Ready when you are

Enter your input and run the tool to see your result here.

Good to know

Objects, arrays and scalars are supported. Strings resembling values such as true are quoted to preserve type. JavaScript numeric precision applies to JSON numbers.

For example
Input: {"name":"OpenTool","active":true}
FIELD NOTES

Understand and use your results

Convert JSON configuration into a readable YAML representation. The source must parse as JSON, so JavaScript code and commented configuration are not accepted directly.

How to use it

  1. Enter a valid JSON object, array or scalar.
  2. Review indentation and string types in the YAML before downloading.

Worked example

Input and options
{"active":true,"label":"true"}
Result or interpretation
active: true
label: "true"

The boolean true differs from the string "true". YAML quoting preserves that distinction. The conversion does not invent comments that were absent from the JSON.

Will converting back produce an identical document?

The conversion transfers supported data values, not original whitespace or spelling. Duplicate keys and numbers beyond JavaScript precision can change during JSON parsing, so keep the original source.
