Worked example

rgb(255, 0, 0) hsl(0, 100%, 50%)
RGB describes red, green and blue channels; HSL describes hue, saturation and lightness. Alpha is also converted when present. Display precision can introduce small rounding differences on a round trip.
Can I enter named colors or CSS variables?
Named colors such as red and expressions such as var(--color) are unsupported. Enter numeric codes instead. HSL saturation and lightness need %, and this tool does not assess contrast or accessibility compliance.
